Capabilities

The importance of discussion through every stage is paramount: from initial customer concepts, aspects of scale, materials and finish, through CAD and final drawings to prototype production. We work in close collaboration with designers to achieve completion to specification, deadline and budget.

We work primarily in English hardwoods including Oak, Beech, Cherry, Walnut and Ash. The quality and stability of our timber is crucial to the finished quality of each item of furniture we produce.

Carefully selected timbers are laid down in our workshops to allow grain configuration to settle, to maximise strength and decorative quality.

Our craftsmen continue to develop a wide range of specialist colours and finishes, from polished hardwoods to painted and limed contemporary options. Degrees of distressing, painted rub through techniques, veneers and inlaying offer extensive finish options.

There is a superb selection of standard colours available from traditional to modern and transitional to painted. We also specialise in being able to offer an unlimited colour palette with you choosing the colour you would like and we will produce samples to your requirements (available with a "Special Colour" upcharge). The following are a guide only to the colour finishes that are available on the choice of timber from ijlbrown.
